BECOMING CATHOLIC

For anyone aged 7 and above interested in becoming Catholic, you will begin preparation with the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) or Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC). OCIA is a communal process for formal initiation of new members into the Catholic Church. It is a process of study, exploration, faith-sharing, and faith formation. This is for anyone who has not been baptized and wants to receive the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation or anyone who has been baptized in another Christian religion. If you have been baptized in another Christian religion, you will make a profession of faith and receive the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation to come into full communion with the Catholic Church. OCIA and OCIC classes begin in the fall, ending with Easter Vigil each year.
