Now hiring: Custodian

St. Rose has an immediate opening for a part-time (25 hr/week) custodial position. This is a temporary position, ending no later than June 30, 2023, with the possibility of being expanded into a permanent position. The purpose of the position is to provide cleaning and light maintenance for the parish and school buildings.

II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assures the church, school and other parish buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly manner including mopping and/or vacuuming floors, cleaning bathrooms, and washing windows

• Empties garbage cans throughout the facility on a scheduled basis

• Assures that kitchen is clean after events and ready for use

• Conducts major annual cleaning (floor stripping and waxing) in classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms at the school and parish center

• Performs minor maintenance on the school, rectory, and church, including replacement of light bulbs

• Provides other general assistance as needed through setting up chairs and tables in the parish and school facilities and moving / disposing of items as requested

• Performs seasonal cleaning of leaf-debris from roofs and gutters

• Serves as a member of the Parish Safety Committee

• Maintains an inventory of lighting and cleaning supplies and places orders as needed

• Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required to function as a Custodian. This is accomplished through reading appropriate materials and attending appropriate workshops or participating in other training opportunities

• Other duties as assigned

A successful pre-employment background check is required. Position open until filled. Compensation is $16 to $18 per hour DOE. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
